As it is challenging to get out to my local nursery when the weather is poor, my rock supply has been dwindling. I saw the stone blanks that this mandala is painted on, on Amazon. A stone is ground to size, 3 inches by 3/8 of an inch - the perfect size for painting!





I really enjoyed working with the symmetry of the stone - which is often a challenge in using natural stones and rocks. I can understand why some folks resort to casting stones out of gypsum or plaster to have a uniform shape to paint on. But there is something about painting a real rock that appeals to me. Finding ways to work around the challenge of imperfections - and trying to make something imperfect beautiful with color and design. I may be adding these to my shop if there is enough interest in them. Till next time,
